YEAH! New stuff to buy in stores NOW! I love when the new season hits shops. The clothing is for exactly the opposite of the current weather. It takes a really skilled shopper to know what to spend her money on this early in the game. However the old adage “Snooze you lose” really holds true for select fashion items. With this heat I can not even imagine trying on a cashmere sweater as beautiful, soft, and dreamy as it may be. I hope all the shops with fall merchandise are keeping their A.C.s on SUPER COOL to entice shoppers.
I went in to Summer Stock at Gosman’s Dock to exchange a dress for my daughter and was delighted to see all new fall stuff. Summer Stock offers an amazing selection in a very small space. Women and a select group of kids clothing. I was having a hard time getting past the cashmere sweaters by Vince. They were all so wonderful, all new shapes, all new subtle colors. Oooh I had serious goose bumps. I forced myself to move on. Thank goodness I did because there in front of me was MY NEW FALL BAG! Puffy, shiny, light as a feather, Chanel knockoff! Chanel is doing these puffer bags and I have been dying for one. Now I have one, close enough to Chanel for me. It is called the “Big Buddha” bag for $80. I had a hard time choosing the color. I made Michele carry one around the store so I could see what it looked like on some one else. I got the taupe/greyish one after much thought. The red one is the best, juiciest shade of red but too much for me – but maybe for you? I am so excited to carry it. Sadly it will have to wait until the weather gets colder. Patience is a virtue.
